Targeted adaptation requires those affected to be informed about the consequences of climate change and be able to respond with appropriate measures. Many decision makers in the cantons, regions and municipalities, however, are not yet aware that adaptations are necessary and beneficial. In many places, the findings from research are also still not widely known. Knowledge transfer is often complicated by the fact that information is scattered and not prepared according to needs for the different target groups. Finally, for a successful adaptation on site, the decisive factor is that the actors take coordinated action and work well together. Suitable structures and control processes are often lacking for this purpose, however.
