The use of space is strongly influenced by the development of various climate-related risks. Spatial planning decisions and corresponding measures must therefore also be taken with a view to the far-reaching consequences of climate-related risks.
The lead for measures for adaptation to climate change in the sector spatial development is taken at the federal level by the Federal Office for Spatial Development ARE.
