Cluster «Change of habitats, species composition and landscape»

Temperature and precipitation changes affect the distribution of animal and plant species and their habitats. Locally, changes in species composition will occur as a result of climate change. These developments are expected to have a negative impact on ecosystem services, at least initially. Any positive effects can only be expected in the long term. The changes in site conditions mainly affect forests and agriculture, where the production potential and the suitability of tree species and crops are changing.
