Pilot programme Adaptation to climate change

The climate will continue to change over the coming decades and we must therefore adapt to new conditions. With this in mind, the federal government runs the pilot programme 'Adaptation to climate change'.

Completion of phase 2 in may 2023

The projects of the second programme phase have been completed. The results are currently being consolidated and summarised in a final report. This will be presented and discussed at the final conference «Adaptation to climate change – how can it succeed?» (16th May 2023 in Bern). Further information on the conference (German)

How the programme works

Projects of the current phase 2

The second phase of the programme comprises 50 projects on six topics. Over 500 individuals from public and private organisations are involved in implementing the projects. Some results are already available. The project descriptions on this website are constantly updated. Findings of phase 1

The first phase of the pilot programme, between 2013 and 2017, involved 31 projects throughout Switzerland. Full details and results of the completed projects can be found in the project archive.
