Impact of climate change on water management

The changes in the water cycle will also have an impact on water management. As part of the Hydro-CH2018 project, literature reviews are currently being compiled on the following subjects:

Eine junge Frau trinkt Wasser aus einem Glas.
  • Water supplies
  • Industrial and private water use
  • Agricultural irrigation
  • Thermal use
  • Hydropower
  • Tourism (including leisure navigation)
  • Fishing
  • Water protection
  • Wastewater
  • Rhine navigation and potential downstream demands
  • Flood protection

They are intended to provide an overview of current information on these impacts and the basis for adaptation measures. The results will be summarised and published in the Hydro-CH2018 synthesis report and on this website (expected in 2020).
