As a member of the NCCS, the FSVO is addressing the issue of climate change by investigating its impact on animal health and welfare and on food safety and its consequences for the health of humans.

The FSVO promotes the health and welfare of humans and animals. The main pillars for humans are food safety and a healthy diet. For animals, the focus is on animal health and welfare.

The FSVO has been a member of the NCCS since summer 2017. As part of its collaboration within the NCCS, the FSVO is addressing the issue of climate change and its impact on animal health and on food safety and its consequences for the health of humans.

Animal health and food safety

The Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO) is constantly investigating the link between climate, animal health and food safety. This research is making it possible to identify risks to humans and animals at an early stage and take countermeasures in good time.
