Foundation for Prevention of the Public Insurance Companies for Real Estate FPPIRE

The Foundation for Prevention of the Public Insurance Companies for Real Estate (FPPIRE) supports applied research projects.

The foundation ensured that long-term, strategic concerns regarding the prevention of damage to buildings from natural hazards are dealt with, especially those that are of particular financial importance to the Public Insurance Companies for Buildings. It promotes applied research projects with the aim of reducing the intensity of damage from natural hazards in the long term. This in turn will lead to a reduction in the general economic costs of building damage caused by natural hazards.

Issues in which the foundation is involved

Hail Climate Switzerland

High quality information is important to reduce damage from hail. Using innovative data and methods, the Swiss data base and hazard analysis are unified and significantly improved.
